What Are Pumpkin Pie S’Mores?

First things first, let’s take a look at what pumpkin pie s’mores are. S’mores are sweet treats which are created by toasting a marshmallow, and then placing the marshmallow between biscuits.

Traditionally Graham crackers would be used to sandwich the marshmallow, and sometimes chocolate will be added to the mix too.

The traditional flavors of s’mores are Graham cracker, toasted marshmallow and chocolate. However, more people are choosing to switch up the flavor by using different ingredients.

You can do this by using different flavor marshmallows, or by using different biscuits to make your s’mores. This is how pumpkin pie s’mores were created.

As the name suggests, pumpkin pie s’mores were created to taste just like pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is the ultimate fall flavor, and this blended with the delicious taste of the toasted marshmallow in s’mores is what fall is all about.

So, it is understandable that you might want to make pumpkin pie s’mores.

There are a couple of different ways that you can do this. Depending on the recipe that you use, each s’more will taste slightly different, but they will all ultimately taste like pumpkin pie.

With that in mind, let’s dive right in and take a look at some of the best pumpkin pie s’mores recipes that you have to try!

The Best Pumpkin Pie S’Mores Recipes

1. BBC Good Food Pumpkin Pie S’Mores

One of our all-time favorite pumpkin pie s’mores recipes is this one by BBC Good Food. The Good Food section of the BBC is so-called because their recipes make good food, and this recipe is a testament to that.

As you would expect, this recipe is super simple to make. After all, it is s’mores that you are making. To create this s’mores recipe, you need just 4 ingredients: ginger snap biscuits (referred to as ginger nuts in the recipe), marshmallows, canned pumpkin purée, and cinnamon.

The method for making your pumpkin pie s’mores is very similar to making regular s’mores. However, this recipe does suggest baking your s’mores rather than toasting your marshmallows.

If you are making s’mores at home, without an open flame available, we would recommend following the method in the recipe.

This method suggests that you put half of your ginger snaps topped with a marshmallow on a baking sheet and place them in the oven. In the meantime, you should pop a small amount of canned pumpkin purée on each of the remaining ginger snaps.

Once your marshmallows have browned, take the tray out of the oven and pop the pumpkin-topped ginger snaps on top. Then tuck in and enjoy. This method is great if you want to prepare a lot of s’mores at once.

If you want to make these the traditional way, simply top half the ginger snaps with a dollop of pumpkin purée before toasting your marshmallows. Once the marshmallows are browned simply place them between your ginger snaps, like you would with a standard s’more.

Then take a bite, they will be totally delicious.

2. Delish.com Pumpkin Pie S’Mores

This next recipe from delish.com is very different to the BBC Good Food recipe that we just looked at. And we mean very different.

While the Good Food recipe aims to recreate the flavor of pumpkin pie using pumpkin purée, this recipe literally uses pumpkin pie to achieve this flavor.

This recipe is very similar to a regular s’mores recipe. It starts with Graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hershey’s chocolate. The pumpkin pie flavor comes from two additional ingredients: warm caramel and leftover pumpkin pie.

If you’ve baked a pumpkin pie, but are all pumpkin pied out, this recipe is perfect. It allows you to use up your leftover pumpkin pie to create new and exciting flavors. So how do you make it? Let’s take a look.

Well, as we have said, you start off by making s’mores in the traditional way. Cut your Graham crackers down into squares, and then roast your marshmallows until they are golden brown.

While your marshmallows are browning, top a Graham cracker with a square piece of pumpkin pie. Then add your marshmallow on top once it is golden. Add your chocolate and a drizzle of caramel, then pop your second Graham cracker on top, and enjoy!

If you want to batch cook, you could easily bake your marshmallows upon one Graham cracker like the previous recipe has suggested.

3. Sinful Nutrition Pumpkin Pie S’Mores

Finally, we have this Sinful Nutrition Pumpkin Pie S’Mores recipe. This recipe is totally different to the two that we have looked at previously, and it actually only contains 3 ingredients. So it is super simple to make.

To make this recipe you only need three ingredients: cinnamon Graham crackers, pumpkin butter, and pumpkin spice marshmallows. This recipe is the first to use flavored marshmallows, but we love it because it really intensifies the flavor of the s’more.

It is insanely easy to make these s’mores. Simply start by cutting your Graham crackers into squares. Once they have been cut into squares, take a dollop of pumpkin butter and spread it across half of the crackers. Then start roasting your marshmallows.

You could roast your marshmallows over a flame the traditional way, or you could pop them onto the Graham crackers and bake them in the oven. We would recommend toasting over a flame if you are only making a small amount, and baking if you are making a lot.

Once your marshmallows are melted (with pumpkin spice marshmallows it will be difficult to see them brown), pop the marshmallow on top of the pumpkin buttered Graham cracker and sandwich together. Then all that is left to do is enjoy.

Summary

In short, there are lots of different recipes that you can use to make pumpkin pie s’mores. After all, we have only looked at 3 recipes in this guide, and all three use different ingredients and have different preparation times and methods.

If you want to get into the fall spirit, we would always recommend making pumpkin pie s’mores. They are utterly delicious and perfect for the occasion. So why not give them a try?
